BECOME A MEMBER OF THE NYC LATINA WRITERS GROUP (NYCLWG)

MEMBER BENEFITS

Authors listed on member directory--a place where publishing professionals can find the writers they are looking for. Discounts to writing conferences, writing workshops and events Networking Access to writers resource library, contests, and publications 

 

Becoming a member of the NYCLWG. You do NOT have to be published to join our organization. All WOC are encouraged to join. 

 

Our membership term is October 1st through September 30th. Dues are currently $75/per year. Students enrolled in a creative writing program pay $35.00. Everyone pays full dues when they join, regardless of membership category or time of the year. There are three categories of membership: 

 

EMERGING WRITER MEMBERSHIP

Emerging Writer Membership are for writers who are in the beginning stages of their career. This membership offers discounts for NYCLWG workshops. Students ages (18-26) get a 50% off the yearly rate. Writers will be listed in the NYCLWG members directory. 

 

SEASONED WRITER MEMBERSHIP

Seasoned Writer Membership is open to professional writers across all genres whose work has been published or produced in the U.S., who reside in the U.S., and who meet specific criteria set by the Board for this category. You have received payment for your work. Proof of payment is required. With this membership you will be listed on the website with links to your work. Work may be self-published. This membership offers discounts for NYCLWG workshops.Writers will be listed in the NYCLWG members directory. 

 

PUBLISHING PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Publishing Professional Membership is open to professionals residing in the U.S. who work in the allied fields listed below: You are an agent who represents writers across literary genres. You are an attorney, who represents writers and other creators of intellectual property. You are a bookseller, who owns or manages a store. You are a director of plays, screenplays, television programs. You are an editor working within a publishing house or for a magazine. This includes, book doctors, and private copyeditors. You are a journalist writing about or interviewing writers. You are a librarian. You are a producer of films, television programs or movies, plays, Internet productions, or audiotapes. You are a publicist or other paid public relations specialist. You are a publisher who pays writers for their work.
