About the Event
Many of us are crying right now. Many of us are crying over the person we once were. May of us have lost people care for deeply. Many of us are ready to let go of—and finally allow to die the shit that no longer serves us.
Join me for our last community candle ritual of the year in honor of Saint Lazarus. In the Catholic faith San Lazaro is the patron saint of the poor and the sick. Legend teaches that Jesus Christ raises Lazarus from the dead and heals him of leprosy. In the religion La Regla de Ocha we honor him as Babaluaye every year on the 17th of December.
Babaluaye is the patron saint who protects those in the military and all those who work in hospitals. Babaluaye is the healer of all ailments. In the teachings of Lazarus we learn that he was kind and showed love and generosity to all those he came in contact with. In the spirit of Lazarus what is promised is resurrection and so it is in his name that I am offering this ceremony.
How do we apply the teachings of San Lazaro to everyday life?
Many of us right now are going through the FCKING FIRE!!! Right now, we are struggling. Right now, many of us are feeling lost—without purpose or direction. This is a moment of death and rebirth. We are collectively being called to RESSURRECT. Who we once were no longer serves the greater plan—it is NOT in alignment with our destiny!
It’s time for us to rise!
On Friday, December 17th, I will be offering a (private) community ritual where I will read your petitions to San Lazaro (you will receive the video after the event). I will spend the evening lighting candles, giving offerings to Lazaro and offering a cleansing ritual where each person will be named as I cleanse them of what ails them.
PETITION:
San Lazaro, I pray for you healing… I pray for you to heal me of (insert your petition—what do you need healed? What thoughts? What emotions are ready to release? Who are ready to let go of? I ready to release the pain of? What/who are you ready to give birth to?) PLEASE MAKE YOUR PETITION THREE SENTENCES NO MORE THAT 150 words – check your word count!)
Sample petition: Babaluaye, San Lazaro, I pray for you to heal my fears. I pray for you to give me the strength to no longer allow for xyx to disrespect me or block me of the life I know I deserve. I release all my pain. I release poverty, I release insecurity. I am ready to give birth to a fearless writer and creator of a spiritual/mindfulness center that will heal my community. (71 words)
It is always an honor for me to serve you.
I love you.
