THE RIGHT TO WRITE
An evening of poetry, community, and resistance in support of writer, producer, playwright, activist, and teaching artist Alicia Anabel Santos, La Santera.
Alicia has spent decades creating space for writers, artists, and communities whose stories deserve to be heard. Now, as she continues navigating the consequences of her ongoing legal case in the Dominican Republic, we are coming together to support her work, her freedom, and her right to write.
The Right to Write is a community fundraiser bringing together writers, artists, activists, friends, family, and supporters for an evening of connection, storytelling, celebration, and solidarity.
The evening will include [readings / performances / speakers / music, and a silent auction featuring donations from Black- and Latina-owned businesses and community supporters in New York.
Your presence helps sustain Alicia’s creative work and provides tangible support as she continues navigating this legal fight.
