About the Event
La Santera uses M.A.P. (MEDITATION, ACCOUNTABILITY and PRACTICE) for Healing Anti-Blackness. Join us for a transformative workshop where we learn to get comfortable in our discomfort and share in a sacred space. La Santera believes that social justice work is healing work.
During our workshop we will use meditations, journaling, and group activities to address racial trauma and anti-Blackness.
You may be questioning your role during this uprising or whether you have the tools to speak on Black issues. Many of us have not learned how to have uncomfortable conversations with family members who are racist. We each have distinct lived experiences, therefore the intention for this workshop is not to invalidate your personal experiences of oppression. The intention is to take a step back and look at a more complete picture. We ask you to bring a willingness to grow and expand. We are being called in this moment to practice self-awareness and really dig deep as we take a closer look at our own anti-Blackness. Together we will explore ways of being open to these conversations so that we can make the necessary adjustments that move us towards liberation.
